Truck driver was arrested


Lahore: A Motorway Police officer Mansoor Asghar was martyred after being hit by a truck on Motorway M4.
According to a Motorway Police spokesperson, a truck hit a patrolling mobile near Aminpur on Motorway M4.
The spokesperson said that the driver of the truck had fallen asleep while driving, due to which the truck hit the patrolling mobile, killing the police officer—father of four.
The spokesperson further said that the Motorway Police officers were giving briefings and education to road users. Taking timely action after the accident, the truck driver was arrested.
The accident took place around 1:00am when the official patrol car was parked along the road and one of the officials was helping a truck driver to wash his face because of ooziness.
During the course of time, a speeding truck hit the official car, crushing the vehicle and the motorway inspector who was sitting inside. The motorway police immediately arrested the driver, claiming that he was sleepy.
The funeral of the martyred officer will be offered in Faisalabad city.
