(Web Desk): Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that India is using a recent armed attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir as a pretext to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty for political gain.
In an interview with The New York Times, Asif stated that India is blaming Pakistan without any evidence or proper investigation. He called for an international inquiry into the incident and said Pakistan is willing to cooperate with global inspectors.
Asif warned that escalating tensions between the two countries could be dangerous for the entire region. “We do not want this war to flare up,” he said, urging calm and dialogue instead of unilateral actions.
