First time, laborers benefiting with national occupational safety, health profile: PM
President Zardari also paid tribute to workers who played important role in country’s development


Islamabad: On the occasion of International Laborers’ Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that for the first time, workers in Pakistan are benefiting from the National Occupational Safety and Health Profile.
Laborers’ Day is being celebrated today across the world, including Pakistan, due to which it is a public holiday across the country. However, the workers, who are crushed by inflation, unemployment, and low wages, are still struggling in search of daily wages.
PM’s message on International Laborers’ Day
On the occasion of this day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while giving a message, said that important legislative and administrative reforms have been made to strengthen the protection of workers. For the first time, workers in Pakistan are benefiting from the National Occupational Safety and Health Profile, ensuring that the employment environment in the country is transformed into safe and healthy places.

On this occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari also paid tribute to the workers who have played an important role in the country’s development.
He said that there is a need to equip our workers and youth with modern skills to meet the challenges of the changing job market.
In addition, the President of Pakistan also emphasized creating a fair labor environment and working for the welfare of workers.
Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Kamran Tesori also said that he salutes the hands that make our lives easier, and every worker is worthy of pride.
On the other hand, Chairman of National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui said that he is determined to protect the rights of workers. The working class has an important role in national development. The main objective of NIRC is to keep the wheel of industry moving in the country. If the industry continues to run, the hearth of the worker will continue to burn.
