The updated law increases the salary for ministers of state from Rs180,000 to Rs519,000

(Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari has signed four new ordinances, including one that raises the monthly salaries of federal ministers and ministers of state to match those of National Assembly members (MNAs).
The updated law increases the salary for federal ministers to Rs519,000 per month, up from Rs200,000, and for ministers of state from Rs180,000 to Rs519,000. These changes will take effect from January 1, 2025.
Another ordinance sets up the National Agri-trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA) to ensure health and safety standards for food imports and exports.
President Zardari also signed the Tax Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, which aims to recover taxes currently stuck in legal disputes.
In addition, the Capital Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 was approved to support broader administrative reforms.
