Accused were illegally residing in Mecca on various types of visit visas

Saudi police have arrested 42 foreigners illegally residing in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
According to a report by Al Arabiya, Saudi Arabia’s Hajj security forces arrested 42 foreigners illegally residing in the Hijra area of Mecca, who were present in Mecca on various types of visit visas and were involved in blatant violation of Hajj regulations and instructions.
According to the report, law enforcement agencies said that after arresting these individuals, formal legal action has been initiated against them.
Saudi police said that the search for the people who sheltered them is also underway so that they can be handed over to the relevant agency and given the prescribed punishments.
Authorities have once again emphasized that Hajj is only for those eligible for permits and who hold regular Hajj visas. No leniency will be shown to violators.
It is pertinent to note that the Saudi Ministry of Interior had warned about providing accommodation to visit visa holders during the Hajj season.
