Babar Azam breaks Hashim Amla, Kohli record; surpasses Virat Kohli in ICC ODI ranking
Clinching 873 rating points, 16 more than Virat Kohli, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has consolidated his numero uno position in the latest ICC ODI rankings.

Babar Azam in 3rd One Day International (ODI) smashed his best-ever ODI score of 158 against England, after he retained his top position over Virat Kohli who stands at 2nd spot in batters rankings.
India's Rohit Sharma is third in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's ranking with 825 rating points, New Zealand's Ross Taylor is in fourth with 801 rating points, while Australia's Aaron Finch ranks fifth with 791 rating points.
After a massive inning, Azam gained 873 rating points, 16 more than Kohli.
Courtesy of this knock, the 26-year-old has surpassed a number of modern-day greats – Hashim Amla, David Warner and India captain Virat Kohli to achieve the unique record. Before Babar, Amla was the quickest to score 14 ODI tons, the SA batsman had taken 84 innings to reach the landmark, while Warner took 98 innings to achieve the same. Kohli, with whom Babar has often been compared, has taken 103 innings to score 14 centuries in the 50-over format.
In another gain, Pakistani skipper beats Kohli in Race to 13 ODI Tons.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has become the fastest cricketer to reach 14 ODI centuries.
He has surpassed several modern-day greats in the process, including Virat Kohli.
Azam and Kohli are often compared in modern-day cricket.
