Several air routes within the Lahore and Sialkot areas were closed

Some routes in the airspace of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Sialkot have been temporarily suspended due to operational reasons. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued regarding the temporary closure of the airspace.
According to the details, some routes in the airspace of Karachi will remain closed for specific hours. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a NOTAM for the closure for a specific period. According to the NOTAM, flights will remain suspended at Jinnah International Airport until 12:00pm.
On the other hand, the airspace of Lahore and Sialkot will also remain closed until 12 noon today. According to the NOTAM issued in this regard, seven routes in the Lahore Flight Information Region have been closed for commercial aircraft.
According to a spokesperson for the Airport Authority, these air routes will not be available until 12 noon today. Some scheduled flights may be affected due to this move.
Meanwhile, according to the Airports Authority, flight operations at Islamabad International Airport have also been temporarily suspended.
It is pertinent to note that the Pakistan Airports Authority had issued a NOTAM yesterday announcing the restoration of airspace on most air routes across the country, while informing that some air routes would remain closed for the next 24 hours.
The authority had confirmed that the airspace of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Karachi has been fully restored.
A separate NOTAM further stated that some parts of the air traffic route in the Lahore Flight Region will remain closed at all altitudes until 12:20pm on May 9 due to operational reasons.
