Consumers have been given relief of Rs3.64 per unit

Karachi: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a decision on K-Electric’s request for a temporary monthly fuel charge adjustment for February 2025.
Under the decision, consumers have been given a relief of Rs3.64 per unit in electricity bills, which will be passed on to consumers through the bills of May 2025.
NEPRA, in its decision regarding generation tariff, which is for the control period from July 2023, has retained a temporary amount of Rs3 billion from the FCA of February 2025 for part load, open cycle, and degradation cruise, as well as start-up costs.
These costs have been allowed to be adjusted with negative fuel cost variations so that additional burden is not placed on consumers in the future.
