31-gun salute was given in federal capital


Islamabad: The government has announced to celebrate the historic victory in the ‘Maarka Haq’ across the country on May 16, 2025.
On Youm-e-Tashakur Day, tributes are being paid to the Pakistani people and the Pakistani Armed Forces. The Youm-e-Tashakur Day begins with Quran recitation and special prayers in mosques.
A 31-gun salute was given in the federal capital and 21 in the provincial capitals.
Today, a change of guard ceremony will be held at the Quaid-e-Azam and Iqbal shrines, and flag hoisting ceremonies will be held in the federal and provincial capitals.
Flowers will be placed at the martyrs’ memorials, and prayer ceremonies will be held across the country.
Special meetings will be held with the families to pay tribute to the martyrs of Operation Banyan Marsus.
The highlight of the Thanksgiving Day ceremony will be held tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest of the main event, while the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of the Armed Forces will also be part of the ceremony.
