Nation honours armed forces as custodians of national sovereignty: President
Asif Zardari visits Gujranwala Cantonment, interacts with officers and troops


Gujranwala: President Asif Ali Zardari says the people of Pakistan hold their brave soldiers in highest esteem as the true custodians of national honour and sovereignty.
He expressed these views during his visit to Gujranwala Cantonment today, where he interacted with the officers and troops.
The President appreciated their morale, combat readiness, and devotion to duty, and extended heartfelt congratulations on the successful culmination of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.
Asif Ali Zardari lauded the exemplary conduct and professional excellence of the Armed Forces in the successful execution of Marka-e-Haq.
Paying solemn tribute to the military and civilian martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the defence of the country, the President affirmed that these sacrifices are a source of enduring national pride.
He underscored that brave sons of soil stood with unwavering resolve to defend the motherland and thwarted hostile designs with exceptional valor and operational acumen.

He said the people of Pakistan hold their brave soldiers in highest esteem as the true custodians of national honour and sovereignty.
During the visit, the President was accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Earlier, upon his arrival, the President was received by Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. Commanders of Mangla and Gujranwala Corps were also present on the occasion.
