DG ISPR says India has long been the principal sponsor of terrorism inside Pakistan

Rawalpindi: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has firmly rejected Indian allegations linking Pakistan to recent acts of terrorism, asserting that Pakistan is a peace-seeking and responsible nation.
In an interview with a foreign television channel, the top military spokesperson emphasised that Islamabad is committed to regional stability and ready to cooperate transparently on all security concerns.
Addressing ongoing regional tensions, Lt Gen Chaudhry said that the root cause of the current standoff lies in India’s persistent policy of sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan. He criticised New Delhi for projecting a false narrative instead of working towards constructive dialogue. “Rather than acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism and engaging in a rational discussion, India continues to blame Pakistan without evidence,” he stated.
Referring specifically to the recent Pahalgam incident, the DG ISPR questioned the speed with which India blamed Pakistan. “Within just 10 minutes of the attack, an FIR was filed claiming the attackers came from across the border. When India’s own Foreign Ministry spokesperson was later asked about the investigation, he admitted it was still ongoing,” he noted.
He called on India to present any evidence it has to a neutral and credible international forum. “Pakistan is ready to cooperate and supports a transparent investigation. If there is any proof, bring it forward to an impartial global body,” he urged.
Lt Gen Chaudhry also condemned India’s unilateral military actions following the incident. “Instead of a lawful process, India acted as judge, jury, and executioner. They targeted mosques, launched missile strikes, and killed civilians – including women and children. Among the 40 martyrs, 22 were women and children,” he said.
He further said that India has long been the principal sponsor of terrorism inside Pakistan, citing its role in supporting extremist groups such as Fitna al-Khawarij and terrorist activity in Balochistan.
Reaffirming the military’s resolve, Lt Gen Chaudhry concluded, “The Pakistan Armed Forces are entrusted with the honourable duty to defend the country's sovereignty, and we will fulfil that responsibility at all costs.”
