Water level in the dam has risen 65 feet above the dead level, which currently stands at 1,402 feet


(Web Desk): Due to glacier melting and rainfall in the northern areas, the water inflow into the Tarbela Dam has started increasing and continues to rise.
According to the spokesperson for Tarbela Dam, the rise in water level is due to glacier melting in the northern regions. The water level in the dam has risen 65 feet above the dead level, which currently stands at 1,402 feet. The dam has a total storage capacity of 1,550 feet.
The spokesperson further stated that the current water level in the dam has been recorded at 1,467.18 feet, and the water inflow into the dam has reached 128,900 cusecs.
According to the spokesperson, the water outflow from the dam is 69,000 cusecs. Seventeen power generation units are operational, producing a total of 2,918 megawatts of electricity. These units have a total generation capacity of 4,888 megawatts.
