Total 109,343 people sought asylum in year ending March 2025

London: Pakistanis have become the top asylum-seeking nationals in the UK.
According to the UK Home Office, the number of Pakistanis seeking asylum last year was 11,048, and a total of 109,343 people sought asylum in the year ending March 2025.
According to the UK Home Office, Pakistanis were the third most common asylum seekers in 2023-24.
In addition, the proportion of those seeking asylum in the UK by crossing the sea in small boats was 33 percent.
According to the UK Home Office, Afghans were the second most common asylum seekers in the year ending March, with 8,069 numbers.
