He directed to prioritize such projects to create effective system of energy production


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to remove obstacles in the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project and complete it as soon as possible.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shehbaz Sharif on Diamer-Bhasha Dam and other water resources, during which the Prime Minister directed to complete projects like Diamer-Bhasha Dam on a priority basis.
The Prime Minister directed to prioritize such projects to create an effective system of energy production and abundant water storage, and to immediately remove obstacles in the construction of Diamer Bhasha Dam and complete it as soon as possible.
Speaking at the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that new dams are indispensable to increase water storage capacity, provide water for agriculture, and prevent floods.
He further said that our economic self-reliance depends on cheap electricity and agriculture. There is a need to increase water storage and use water effectively.
