Revised salary structure will come into effect from January 1, 2025

(Web Desk): The salaries of the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate have been increased by more than 600%.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has issued a notification regarding the pay hike, stating that the monthly salary of both the Speaker and the Chairman has now been set at Rs1.3 million.
According to the notification, the revised salary structure will come into effect from January 1, 2025.
Previously, both the National Assembly Speaker and the Senate Chairman were receiving a monthly salary of Rs205,000.
In January, a committee headed by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had approved a Rs519,000 increase in the monthly salaries of all Members of the National Assembly and Senators.
Before the increase, lawmakers were receiving Rs180,000 per month. It was initially proposed that their salary be raised to Rs1 million, but Speaker Ayaz Sadiq rejected the proposal and instead agreed on setting it at Rs519,000 per month.
