Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths amid concerns of fourth wave of coronavirus owing to Delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,452 cases of coronavirus were reported while 30 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,811.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 991,727.

As many as 920,066 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,532 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                       

The number of patients swelled to 350,618 in the province with 10,881 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 356,929 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,720.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 140,818 in the province with 4,386 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 29,110 confirmed cases while 319 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 22,116 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 601. On the other hand, there are 7,414 cases in GB with 117 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 84,722 cases in the capital city while 787 people have lost their lives.
