Applications for permanent US residency can be submitted for $5 million

(Web Desk): Former US President Donald Trump has launched a new website, announcing that individuals aspiring for permanent US residency can now apply for a "Golden Visa" by paying $5 million through the website TrumpCard.gov.
According to a report by international news agency AFP, applications for permanent US residency can be submitted for $5 million.
President Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that thousands of people had been asking him how they could gain access to the world’s greatest country and its markets through the Golden Visa program.
Trump had first mentioned this visa in April aboard his aircraft, Air Force One, stating that the golden-colored "Golden Card," featuring his own image prominently, would be available in less than two weeks.
As of now, while visas have not yet been issued, the process of collecting applications has officially begun. Those seeking permanent US residency can register their name, email address, and visa-related details on the website.
This announcement of the Golden Visa by the US President comes at a time when there is an ongoing crackdown against immigrants in the US.
The Trump administration is facing multiple legal cases and has also been accused of violating basic rights due to its crackdown on citizens protesting against immigration laws.
Trump stated that the Golden Card would pave the way for “expensive American citizenship.” Back in February 2025, he had mentioned that his administration aimed to sell nearly one million Golden Cards, although he did not rule out the possibility that Russian oligarchs could also be eligible to obtain them.
