Death toll rises to 78, with 329 injured across Tehran and other cities

(Web Desk): Israel’s airstrikes on Iran have resulted in the deaths of senior military officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians, with over 300 people reported injured.
According to Iranian media, the highest number of casualties occurred in Tehran, where Israel targeted Iran’s nuclear, military, and strategic installations. The death toll across Tehran and other cities has risen to 78, while 329 people are reported injured, many of them in critical condition—raising fears that the death toll may climb further. Meanwhile, Israel has threatened additional strikes.
Iran’s semi-official Nour News reported that the Israeli attacks constitute the most intense bombardment on Iranian soil in decades. Fars News Agency confirmed that the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Major General Hossein Salami, was killed in an attack on the central IRGC headquarters in Tehran.
Among the other high-profile casualties are Iranian Army Deputy Commander General Gholam Ali Rashid and prominent nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
Israel also targeted the Ahmad Reza Roshan nuclear facility in Natanz, where Professor Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari was killed. Additionally, Ali Shamkhani, senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was critically injured and has been hospitalized.
The Israeli military stated that the airstrikes destroyed dozens of Iranian surface-to-surface missile launchers, warehouses, and key military installations. According to Israel’s Channel 12, airstrikes also hit Mehrabad Airport in Tehran and Bushehr Airport, both of which are used by the Iranian Air Force.
The cities of Tabriz in the northwest and Kermanshah in the southwest were also within the range of the Israeli strikes.
