Lahore: The PEMRA Council of Complaints (Punjab) took up important cases of radio and television channels for review and related decisions the other day.
Dr Lubna Zaheer, the Chairperson of the PEMRA Council of Complaints (Punjab), presided over a significant meeting of the Council where multiple complaints against various radio and television channels were discussed in detail.
The meeting was held at the regional PEMRA office and was attended by council members and relevant stakeholders.
During the proceedings, complaints related to content violations, non-compliance with the code of conduct, and ethical breaches by certain media outlets were thoroughly deliberated. The Council examined each case individually, allowing both complainants and representatives of the media organizations to present their arguments.
After detailed discussions, the Council issued decisions on several cases, directing appropriate action and giving recommendations to PEMRA for enforcement. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to transparency, impartiality, and ethical standards in media regulation.
