The best moments from the U.S. Open final round
J.J. Spaun secured an improbable U.S. Open Championship at a rainy Oakmont Country Club on Sunday for the first major win of his career.

Spaun (-1) bogeyed five of his first six holes in the final round, but bounced back with three birdies and one bogey the rest of the way. The 34-year-old is the fifth-oldest player in history to win a major after never previously recording a top-20 major finish, according to ESPN Research.

After Robert MacIntyre finished as the clubhouse leader at 1 over, creating a four-way tie at the top, Spaun responded with a birdie on 17 to take the solo lead. He then made a birdie on the 18th for the victory, becoming the fifth player in the past 100 years to win the U.S. Open after never previously making a U.S. Open cut.

Spaun won the U.S. Open with a 64-foot, 5-inch birdie putt on the 72nd hole. It was the only putt of 60-plus feet made by any player this week.

Here are the best moments from the final round of the 2025 U.S. Open.
