Charges included ‘harming public opinion and supporting criminal regime (Israel)’

Qom: 22 people have been arrested in the Iranian province of Qom on charges of spying for Israel.
According to a foreign news agency, the head of the Qom Intelligence Police said that 22 people have been arrested on charges of spying for Israel since June 13.
He said that these arrested elements were trying to disperse public opinion and damage and destroy the reputation of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Revolutionary Guards-run news agency said the charges included ‘harming public opinion and supporting the criminal regime (Israel)’.
The agency did not provide details of the arrested suspects or their alleged crimes.
It is pertinent to note that Iran also said yesterday that it had arrested another Mossad spy.
According to Iranian media reports, the alleged arrested spy was sharing Iranian air defense data via WhatsApp.
Iran’s state broadcaster said that on Friday, authorities arrested a suspected Mossad agent who allegedly sent information about Iran’s air defense installations to Israel via the WhatsApp messaging app.
