Pakistan reports sharp increase in COVID cases, deaths amid concerns of fourth wave
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a sharp increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths amid concerns of fourth wave of coronavirus owing to Delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,145 cases of coronavirus were reported while 37 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,848.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 991,727.
As many as 993,872 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,697 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 351,000 in the province with 10,892 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 358,176 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,737.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 140,962 in the province with 4,391 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 29,190 confirmed cases while 319 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 22,192 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 602. On the other hand, there are 7,510 cases in GB with 120 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 84,842 cases in the capital city while 787 people have lost their lives.
