Fares of passenger trains are increased by 2 percent

Lahore: Pakistan Railways has increased passenger train fares once again.
The Railways Department has increased the fares of passenger trains by 2 percent. This is the second time in two weeks that fares have been increased.
The Railways had also increased the fares by 3 percent on June 18.
According to a notification issued by the Railways Department, the increase in fares will be implemented from July 4.
Railway officials said that the department is facing serious financial losses due to the increase in the price of diesel; therefore, the increase in fares was inevitable.
