Russia accepted credentials of new ambassador to Afghanistan

Moscow: Russia has recognized the Afghan Taliban government, becoming the first country to recognize the Taliban government after it returned to power.
According to the British news agency, Russia has accepted the credentials of the new ambassador to Afghanistan.
In this regard, the Russian Foreign Ministry says that the process of formally recognizing the Taliban government will promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.
It is pertinent to note that after the withdrawal of US forces on August 15, 2021, the Taliban recaptured the Afghan capital Kabul.
After the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021, after a 20-year war, Russia has gradually restored its relations with Afghanistan. Two years ago, Russian President Putin said that his country considers the Taliban its ally in eliminating terrorism.
According to experts, Russia wants to work with the Taliban in view of the security threats posed by extremist groups in many countries, from Afghanistan to the Middle East.
In April this year, Russia removed the Afghan Taliban from its list of terrorist organizations. Russia had officially designated the Afghan Taliban as a terrorist organization in 2003.
