Services will be shut down today, Muharram 8, after Friday prayers

Peshawar: As part of special security measures during Muharram, it has been decided to shut down mobile phone services in Peshawar on Muharram 9 and 10.
According to a police spokesperson, mobile phone services will be shut down today, Muharram 8, after Friday prayers, which will be restored after 10:00pm on Ashura (Sunday).
The police spokesperson said that this step has been taken to make security effective on the routes of processions, improve surveillance in sensitive areas, and avoid any untoward incident.
Security agencies will also monitor the processions through drone cameras, CCTV, and other technology.
