Lahore: A local court on Friday ordered the transfer of a lion, which attacked children in Lahore’s Johar Town area, to the Safari Park.
A case has been registered against the lion’s owner, who has also been arrested. The lion, which attacked children yesterday in the Johar Town, was seized by the Punjab Wildlife Department and presented before the court.
According to the Wildlife Inspector, the African lion was taken into custody from the accused, Malik Bahram, on the night of July 3. The accused had been keeping the lion illegally.
The Wildlife Inspector requested the court to transfer the lion to the Safari Park. Acting on the request, Judicial Magistrate Hassan Sarfraz Cheema issued a written order for the transfer.

Earlier, Johar Town police registered a case against the lion’s owner on the complaint of Muhammad Qaiser, a member of the affected family. The FIR includes charges such as attempted murder, among other provisions.
Police arrested Malik Bahram, the son of farmhouse owner Malik Nazim.
It is worth noting that the incident occurred yesterday at a farmhouse in Lahore’s Johar Town, where a lion attacked a family, injuring three people, including two children.
According to police, the lion’s enclosure at the farmhouse was left open, allowing the animal to escape and attack the family. The injured were taken to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, where the condition of the two children was reported to be critical.
