Authorities in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar deployed tens of thousands of police personnel to secure processions


Lahore/Karachi/Islamabad: The 9th of Muharram-ul Haram is being observed on Saturday with due solemnity and respect to pay homage to the sacrifice rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in Karbala.
Majalis will be held in all small and major cities while processions of Tazia and Alam will also be taken out in different cities.
In the federal capital Islamabad, the 9th Muharram procession emerged from Markzai Imam Bargah G-6/2.
After passing through its traditional route, the procession will culminate at the same point.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to thwart any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, on the directions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a mobile control room has been established for the first time in Islamabad as part of the Ashura security plan.
The mobile control room is capable of operating even without mobile signals, ensuring uninterrupted monitoring and coordination.
Major cities across the country, including Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar, are observing Muharram 9 processions on Saturday under heightened security, with mobile phone services suspended in some areas and key locations sealed amid fears of unrest.
