Strict security arrangements were made by authorities during the processions


(Web Desk): Across the country today, processions were held to mark Youm-e-Ashura in remembrance of the timeless sacrifice of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) grandson, Imam Hussain (RA), and his loyal companions.
In Lahore, the central Ashura procession began from Nisar Haveli in Mochi Gate and concluded at Karbala Gamay Shah.
In Karachi, the main procession began at 10 AM from Nishtar Park, proceeded along its traditional route, and ended at Imambargah Hussainia Iranian, Kharadar.
In Rohri, the traditional No Dhala Tazia procession covered a long distance and concluded at Shohada Graveyard on Station Road after stops at Mando Khubbar and Karbala Maidan. The procession had originally departed from Imambargah Shah Iraq on the night of 8th and 9th Muharram after the ritual of Shama Gul.
In Hyderabad, the central Ashura procession began from Qadam Gah Mola Ali and concluded at Karbala Dadan Shah.
In cities across Sindh — including Mirpurkhas, Badin, Jacobabad, Thatta, Larkana, Nawabshah, Dadu, and Khairpur — tributes were paid to the martyrs of Karbala.
In Multan, the central procession started from Imambargah Hira Hyderia and concluded at Dargah Shah Shams Tabriz. Traditional processions featuring ustad (master) and shagird (student) tazias were also held.
In Faisalabad, the central procession ended at Imambargah Aza Khana Shabbir Dhobi Ghat, where mourners paid tribute to Imam Hussain (RA) and his family and companions.
Processions in Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Jhang, Sargodha, Lodhran, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Jhelum, and Narowal also concluded peacefully at their designated locations.
In Parachinar, Nowshera, Mansehra, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Bannu, Mardan, and Tank, mourners paid homage to the martyrs of Karbala through mourning processions.
In Gilgit, the central procession followed its designated route and returned to Central Imamia Mosque, while in Skardu, Ghanche, Kharmang, Shigar, and Astore, processions followed traditional routes and concluded peacefully.
In Muzaffarabad, the central Ashura procession ended at Imambargah Pir Alam Shah Bukhari, with similar processions taking place in Mirpur, Bhimber, and other districts of Azad Kashmir.
In Quetta, the main Ashura procession began from Alamdar Road. During this time, mobile phone and internet services were suspended, and a ban on pillion riding was enforced.
Strict security arrangements were made by authorities during the processions. Mobile services remained disrupted in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, and other major cities, with restrictions on pillion riding also in place.
