Senator Pervaiz Rashid asked about the facilities provided to the public on motorway

Islamabad: It was revealed in the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Communications that the toll tax on motorways has increased by more than 100 percent.
The Chairman of the National Highways Authority told the Standing Committee that the toll tax had not been increased for six years; therefore, the rate has been increased instantly. The revenue is being shown from Rs320 million to Rs640 million, which is due to the increased tolls.
On this, Senator Pervaiz Rashid asked what facilities have been provided to the public on the motorway?
During the meeting, the issue of embezzlement of Rs4.5 billion in two districts for M-6 also came to light.
The Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHA) said that the Sindh government has offered to give the embezzled money of two deputy commissioners. It has offered to deposit the money so that the project can continue.
The Chairman stated that the Sindh government has requested that the money be recovered by collecting the money from the DCs.
