Sherry Rehman dismisses Zardari resignation reports as baseless

She added that President Asif Ali Zardari has always upheld the flag of democracy during critical times. He is a symbol of democratic stability and a true guardian of constitutional values.

Senator Rehman further stated that President Zardari, out of his own will and political foresight, transferred all powers to the parliament — a historic move that laid the foundation for strengthening parliamentary democracy.

She emphasized that today, President Zardari is the most important pillar of balance and stability in the coalition government. He has always prioritized national interest over personal gain. Even now, he stands as the true protector of the parliamentary system and the guarantor of constitutional continuity. His presence ensures that the Constitution, Parliament, and democratic institutions remain safeguarded.
