Gemini AI can now access WhatsApp, messages on Android by default
You can turn off this new Gemini feature if you wish

(Web Desk): If you use Google's artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Gemini on your phone, the company has made a major change to it.
As of July 7, Google has modified how its AI chatbot communicates with third-party apps on Android devices.
Now, Google Gemini can connect with apps like Messages, WhatsApp, and other phone apps.
This change has been made default for Android users — in simple terms, it will work automatically, whether the Gemini app is turned on or off on the device.
While the purpose of this update is to make it easier for Gemini to interact with your device and improve the overall user experience, there are concerns that it may give Google access to your chats and other personal data.
According to Google's support page, Gemini will now be able to assist more effectively by connecting to your services.
For example, this AI chatbot can now send WhatsApp messages for you, set timers, and even initiate phone calls.
Google further stated that the Gemini app has direct access to Google AI functions, during which it stores your personal data to provide better service.
If you're an Android user, you will soon receive an email from Google informing you about this change.
However, you can turn off this new Gemini feature if you wish.
According to the company, if you don’t want to use this feature, you can disable it through the app settings.
The other option is to completely delete the Gemini app.
