Islamabad: The Karakoram Highway has been opened for all kinds of traffic, announced the military’s media wing.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) worked tirelessly day and night to open the highway.
“Despite bad weather and difficult conditions, FWO teams worked day and night to open the road for traffic,” said the ISPR.
The ISPR added that the highway got blocked on Tuesday due to the rains in Gilgit Baltistan and was closed at 20 points from Tatta Pani to Raikot.
Traffic remained suspended and several tourists and locals are stranded following the partial closure Karakoram Highway after a landslide in Chilas.
The Karakoram Highway is closed at seven points from Tata Pani to Lal Pari, including Gandlo and Raikot.
Moreover, the city also received heavy rain for the past three days which has damaged several houses and crops.
