‘There is no truth to the claim that the Army Chief is interested in assuming the presidency’

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has dismissed rumors about President Zardari's resignation and the Army Chief assuming the office of the President.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Mohsin Naqvi said, "We know who is behind the campaign targeting the President, Prime Minister, and Army Chief. We also know why this is being done and who stands to benefit from it."
He added, "There has been no discussion about the President's resignation, nor is there any such intention. Likewise, there is no truth to the claim that the Army Chief is interested in assuming the presidency."
Mohsin Naqvi further stated that the President of Pakistan has a strong and respectful relationship with the military leadership, while the Army Chief's sole focus is on the strength and stability of Pakistan.
The Federal Interior Minister also said, "To those involved in this narrative, our message is clear: do whatever you want in collaboration with hostile agencies — we will do whatever is necessary to strengthen Pakistan."
