Both sides discuss evolving regional security situation and matters of mutual strategic interest


Rawalpindi: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, was called on by Major General Saidzoda Bobojon Abdulqodir, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defence of Tajikistan on Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting took place at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. During the meeting, both sides discussed the evolving regional security situation and matters of mutual strategic interest.
The two military leaders highlighted the deep, brotherly relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan and explored avenues to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation.
Major General Saidzoda praised the professionalism of Pakistan’s Armed Forces and acknowledged their immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Major General Saidzoda was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of all three services of Pakistan’s Armed Forces.
