(Web Desk): A search operation is underway for a female mountaineer who went missing after being caught in a landslide in the Hushe Valley area of Gilgit.
According to Faizullah Faraq, spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan government, one mountaineer, Cross Marina Eva, was rescued yesterday, while the second German woman, Laura Dahlmeier, is missing and reportedly injured.
The spokesperson said that the search for the German mountaineer is ongoing through helicopters and expert teams, while rescue teams are also conducting ground operations.
The two German women were caught in a landslide on July 28 while attempting to summit Laila Peak.
