Unskilled workers will get Rs40,000 and highly skilled workers Rs51,745

Karachi: The Sindh government has officially issued a notification setting the minimum monthly wage at Rs40,000 for all workers employed in industrial and commercial establishments across the province. This new wage structure will come into effect from July 1, 2025.
Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thaheem stated that the monthly wage for semi-skilled workers has been set at Rs41,380, for skilled workers at Rs49,628, and for highly skilled workers at Rs51,745.
This wage policy will be uniformly applicable to both registered and unregistered industrial and commercial establishments, and men and women workers will receive equal pay. In establishments where workers are paid hourly, a minimum wage of Rs192 per hour must be ensured.
He further added that the Sindh government is pursuing labour-friendly policies and is taking practical steps to ensure the welfare of workers, fair wages, and a better working environment. The increase in the minimum wage aims to ease the burden of inflation and provide the working class with a dignified livelihood.
The Labour Department is in constant communication with industrialists, and strict enforcement of labour laws will be ensured.
