Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in flood-prone or vulnerable areas

(Web Desk): The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for a potential flood situation in parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan due to heavy rainfall expected between August 6 and 7.
As a result of the anticipated rains, sudden flooding and overflowing of streams and rivers are expected in areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Hunza, Ghanche, and Shigar.
In Kashmir, flood-like conditions are likely in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhnoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur due to the expected downpours.
NDMA is providing timely updates to all relevant institutions regarding potential risks.
The authority has directed all concerned departments to take preemptive measures and ensure preparedness to deal with possible emergencies.
Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel in flood-prone or vulnerable areas.
