(Web Desk): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has temporarily suspended national cricketer Haider Ali following allegations of sexual assault.
Middle-order batsman Haider Ali became embroiled in controversy in Manchester, where he was reportedly arrested three days ago on suspicion of sexual assault. He was later released on bail.
The PCB confirmed his suspension and stated that an investigation is ongoing.
According to a statement issued by the PCB, Haider Ali is under criminal investigation in the UK, and the alleged incident took place during the recent Pakistan Shaheens’ tour of England.
The board further stated that the Greater Manchester Police is conducting the investigation, and the cricketer has been provided with legal support by the PCB.
A PCB spokesperson added that the Pakistan Cricket Board respects the legal process in the UK, and Haider Ali will remain suspended until the investigation is complete.
