Instagram testing new 'Picks' feature to help users discover shared interests
This feature is currently being tested internally and is not yet available to the public

(Web Desk): Instagram is currently testing a new feature called Picks, aimed at helping users discover shared interests with others.
The company has confirmed that this feature is currently being tested internally and is not yet available to the public.
With the Picks feature, users will be able to select their favorite movies, books, TV shows, games, and music — all of which will be categorized as their “Picks.” Instagram will then notify them of friends who have chosen the same items.
While the company hasn’t shared more detailed information, the feature appears to be designed to bring friends closer together and encourage more conversations around mutual interests.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri stated a few months ago that this year would be focused on “connection and creativity.” He said the platform would be introducing new tools to help people stay connected with their friends.
“We’ll be putting more emphasis on messaging, improving content quality, and exploring new ways to strengthen friendships,” Mosseri had said.
As the Picks feature is still in the experimental phase, there is no confirmed timeline for when it might be rolled out to all users.
