‘We are taking China-Pakistan relations to new heights’

Islamabad: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that China considers Pakistan a reliable and trusted ally, and is working to elevate bilateral relations to new heights.
Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his visit to Pakistan, Wang Yi expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for their warm hospitality. He said that a wide range of topics were discussed during the meetings, including detailed talks on CPEC Phase-II.
He emphasized that China regards Pakistan as a trustworthy partner, and the strategic partnership between the two countries is growing stronger. “We are taking China-Pakistan relations to new heights,” he added.
Wang Yi noted that regional peace and stability is a shared goal, and that China is looking forward to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that his discussion with the Chinese Foreign Minister was productive, and both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. The meeting included a comprehensive review of all aspects of Pakistan-China relations, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Dar praised China’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and reaffirmed the shared resolve to work together for regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
He further stated that both sides are committed to expanding cooperation under CPEC Phase-II, enhancing people-to-people exchanges, and broadening bilateral cooperation. There is consensus on all key issues, and both countries are determined to continue supporting each other at international platforms, including the UN Security Council.
