Many villages near Head Sulemanki and Head Ganda Singh Wala had been inundated following the high flood situation.


The Ravi and Sutlej rivers were flowing in high flood on Tuesday after India released water into the two rivers.
According to the media reporst that many villages near Head Sulemanki and Head Ganda Singh Wala had been inundated following the high flood situation.
In response, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) issued alerts.
The sources said that India made the first contact on Sunday night, stating that water was being released into the Tawi River. In the second diplomatic communication, a flood warning was issued for the Sutlej River.
The PDMA issued alerts to the commissioners of Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
Due to the water release by India, several embankments on the Sutlej River were breached.
High-level flooding has been reported near Bahawalnagar and Kasur, while the river has overflowed near Head Ganda Singh Wala and Head Sulemanki.
Moreover, breaches have occurred in the protective embankments near Head Islam. In Pakpattan, more than 1,400 affected people have been shifted to safer areas.
In Chishtian, 150 houses have been affected by flash floods. In Jhelum, water from the Banhan Nullah has entered residential areas.
Several villages in Burewala, Arifwala, and Chichawatni have been submerged in recent floods, while crops have been damaged in areas including Farooqabad, Jamlera, Sahooka, Mauza Bhattian Tibbi, Noorarth, and Basti Mengal.
Meanwhile, the Ravi River is experiencing a medium-level flood at Head Sulemanki and Jassar, where the water flow has reached 82,140 cusecs.
According to the NDMA, the Ravi River is 86% full, posing a risk to low-lying areas of Sialkot, Narowal, and Kasur.
