Fashion icon Giorgio Armani dies at 91
Tributes poured in from across the fashion world

(Web Desk): The world of fashion is in mourning following the death of legendary Italian designer Giorgio Armani, who passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on Thursday, surrounded by family at his home.
According to TMZ, the billionaire designer had been preparing to mark 50 years of his iconic fashion brand with a major event during this month’s Milan Fashion Week.
In a statement, the Armani Group confirmed the news, saying: "With infinite sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force: Giorgio Armani. Il Signor Armani, as he was respectfully and admiringly called, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and numerous projects."
A funeral chamber will be open at Milan’s Armani Teatro on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a private ceremony to follow.
Armani, who had been recovering from an undisclosed illness, notably missed his runway shows in Milan this June for the first time in his career.
Tributes poured in from across the fashion world. Donatella Versace wrote, “The world has lost a giant today. He made history and will be remembered forever.”
Born in Piacenza, northern Italy, in July 1934, Armani originally studied medicine but was introduced to fashion while working as a window dresser in Milan. He went on to become one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, revolutionizing red carpet style and modern elegance.
His legacy continues to shape the global fashion industry.
