The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed the building

(Web Desk): A five-storey building in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area has partially sunk, causing cracks in the ground and walls after the ground floor caved in. The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed the building.
The structure tilted on one side, resulting in broken windows and balconies on the ground floor, while cracks appeared in the floor and walls due to the sinking.
Upon receiving the report, police, Rescue 1122 personnel, and local administration reached the affected building. Frightened residents began evacuating, loading their belongings onto trucks.
The residential complex comprises three buildings. Blocks A and B are reported to be safe, while the affected structure contains Blocks C and D. A total of 60 flats were housed in these two blocks, accommodating around 300 residents.
Meanwhile, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab confirmed that the Sindh Building Control Authority has sealed the building. He stated that all residents were safely evacuated.
The mayor added that he has instructed the SBCA to conduct a thorough inspection of the building.
