Pakistan will continue to mobilize global support together with OIC and Arab countries to establish peace in the region

Doha: Pakistan has proposed the establishment of an Arab-Islamic Task Force to prevent Israel’s expansionist plans.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has proposed in an emergency meeting held in Doha after the Israeli attack on Qatar that an Arab-Islamic Task Force be established to monitor Israel’s ambitions and prevent expansionist plans.
Speaking at a meeting regarding the preparation of the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit of Foreign Ministers, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that we are gathered here once again to consider another illegal Israeli attack that has been carried out on a brotherly and sovereign state.
Ishaq Dar stated that the mere fact that we are having to convene such meetings repeatedly shows that Israel has become a permanent threat to global peace and security. Pakistan condemns Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar in the strongest terms.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that this provocative and illegal attack is a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and is contrary to the fundamental principles of international law, including the UN Charter.
He further said that the Prime Minister of Pakistan has already made it clear that this attack is unjustified and poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Israel targeted a state that was engaged in efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Palestine, along with the US and Egypt.
Ishaq Dar said that this attack exposes Israel’s aggressive thinking and blatant violation of international law. These actions of Israel reveal its aggressive and dangerous intentions to destroy the global system.
He also said that the atrocities committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the last two years are clear proof of its extremist policies. Israeli aggression has now spread to other countries in the region, which should be stopped at all costs.
He continued to say that the Arab and Islamic world must unite to confront Israeli aggression. Pakistan expressed full solidarity with the people and government of Qatar. Qatar has the right to take all measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens in accordance with the UN Charter.
Ishaq Dar appreciated Qatar’s role in peace talks and ceasefire and said that targeting Qatar is actually an attack on the process of diplomacy and mediation. Pakistan played a role in calling an emergency meeting of the Security Council along with Algeria and Somalia, so that Israel could be brought to justice.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister further said that Pakistan has also represented the OIC in the UN Human Rights Council and demanded an urgent discussion so that the Israeli aggression can be responded to at the global level.
Ishaq Dar continued that, as per the OIC proposal, Israel’s membership in the United Nations should be suspended, and additional punitive measures against Israel should be considered to discourage its illegal actions.
He said that the Security Council should demand an immediate and unconditional ceasefire from Israel under Chapter VII, unhindered humanitarian aid should be delivered to all civilians in Gaza, and the protection of medical personnel and UN personnel should be ensured.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that a meaningful and time-bound political process for a two-state solution should be resumed to establish lasting peace. Pakistan, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, will continue to mobilize global support together with the OIC and Arab countries so that peace can be established in the region and the Palestinian people can get their right to self-determination.
