Nation marks Day of Gratitude for Pakistan–Saudi Defence accords with special Friday Prayers
Mosques nationwide hold prayers for success of agreements as well as well-being of both nations

Islamabad: In celebration of the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence agreements, a Day of Thanksgiving was observed across the country on Friday. Special prayers were offered during congregational Friday prayers for the security and prosperity of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
Marking the occasion of the defence accords concluded earlier this week between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, mosques nationwide held prayers for the success of the agreements as well as the well-being of both nations.
Addressing a gathering in Lahore, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Chairman of Majlis-e-Ulama Pakistan, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, hailed the Pakistan–Saudi defence pact as a historic agreement, adding that the entire nation was celebrating a Day of Thanksgiving in its honour.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad conveyed salutations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Prime Minister, and the Field Marshal. He stressed that Pakistan’s bond with the Haramain Sharifain is rooted in the Kalima Tayyiba, and that safeguarding the Holy Mosques is integral to the faith of the Muslim Ummah.
He further stated that the time had come when Almighty Allah had united Pakistan alongside its brotherly nation, Saudi Arabia. Referring to the armed forces, he remarked that under the leadership of General Asim Munir, Pakistan had raised the flag of truth, standing as a wall of steel before Prime Minister Modi, humbling India within three hours and proving the resolve of those who proclaim the slogan of Takbeer and Allahu Akbar.
He added that Israel had grown uneasy following the defence pact with Saudi Arabia, as the agreement has further elevated Pakistan’s standing.
The Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee also sent a message to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, assuring him that every Pakistani stands ready to protect the sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain. He declared that the enemies of Islam must know that falsehood will perish and truth will prevail.
Condemning those who attack the state, he described them as perpetrators of grave sin, insisting that they have no moral justification to reside in the country. He vowed that the forces of Khawarij and other hostile elements would not be allowed to gain ground.
Meanwhile, special prayers were also held at the historic Mahabat Khan Mosque in Peshawar, where Chief Khateeb Maulana Tayyib Muhammad Qureshi led prayers for national security.
Maulana Tayyib Qureshi remarked that it was a matter of pride that Allah Almighty had chosen Pakistan to safeguard the Haramain Sharifain. He said the enemies must understand that the message of Makkah and Madinah has reached Pakistan, describing the day as a reaffirmation of the two-nation theory. He urged the people to stand firmly with the armed forces and the state.
