Alarm bells ringing as Pakistan reports nearly 5000 covid cases
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported more than 5000 Covid-19 cases as fourth wave rages across country.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,950 cases of coronavirus were reported while 65 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,360.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,029,811.
As many as 940,164 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,187 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 356,211 in the province with 11,041 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 380,093 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,971.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 143,673 in the province with 4,456 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 30,289 confirmed cases while 328 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 24,145 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 622. On the other hand, there are 8,096 cases in GB with 141 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 87,304 cases in the capital city while 801 people have lost their lives.
