Political and military leadership of Pakistan is on the same page


London: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Field Marshal and I consult each other on every issue. Foreign powers do not want to see Pakistan flourish; the challenge of terrorism is rising again, which will be completely wiped out.
Talking to Pakistani journalists based in the UK, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the political and military leadership of Pakistan is on the same page on all important issues, including foreign policy. The Field Marshal and I consult on every national issue. Mutual consultations are also held regarding the economic situation. I pray that this harmony continues so that the losses of the past can be remedied.
He stated that he will always remember the lesson that the Pakistani army taught India. Our brave troops won the war against India under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Pakistan achieved a historic victory in the fight for justice. During the war, the entire nation stood behind its armed forces.
The Prime Minister also told reporters that the visit to New York and Washington was very successful and useful. The meeting on the situation in Gaza at the UN building is a welcome development. Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt also participated in the important meeting.
He added that President Trump chaired the meeting on Gaza, and Pakistan was specially invited. There were encouraging discussions in the meeting on Gaza. He is confident that a positive outcome of the recent meeting on Gaza will come out very soon.
He told reporters that he had a very pleasant conversation with US President Donald Trump. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was also present in the meeting with the US President. The commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations was reiterated in the meeting. The US President was praised in the UN Assembly and at the meeting. Trump and his team played an important role in bringing about a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
The Prime Minister further said that the defense agreement was a long-standing desire of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. They will not hesitate to make any sacrifice to protect the Two Holy Mosques. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a relationship of trust that has been going on for decades. The defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is not against anyone.
Shehbaz Sharif said that they are striving for a strong economy in Pakistan. 1,000 agricultural graduates have been sent to China for training. We are determined to get rid of debts. President Trump assured that he will cooperate fully with Pakistan in the economic and trade sectors.
He said that the ongoing cycle of oppression in Gaza since 2023 should stop now. There is no example of barbarity against Muslims in Gaza in history. There should be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. A strong voice was raised in the General Assembly on the situation in Gaza, and full solidarity was expressed with the Palestinian brothers and sisters in the United Nations.
He also said that he raised his voice at the General Assembly forum regarding the Kashmir issue, also talked about water. Pakistan was given immense respect during its visit to Saudi Arabia; the Saudi leadership gave a wonderful welcome, which is a source of pride for 240 million Pakistanis.
The Prime Minister said that the challenge of terrorism is resurfacing. The Pakistani army and law enforcement agencies are fighting to eliminate terrorism. Foreign powers do not want to see Pakistan flourish. We will completely wipe out terrorists. The soldiers and officers of the Pakistani army are making sacrifices day and night, they will end terrorism.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan thanked President Trump for playing an important role in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The Pakistani nation proposed President Trump's name for the Nobel Prize for peace efforts.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Information Ata Tarar were also present on the occasion.
