Target has been set to provide 300,000 new connections this year


Islamabad: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has lifted the ban on domestic gas connections across the country.
Speaking to the media, SNGPL Managing Director Aamir Tufail said that now gas supply to consumers in their homes has been restored, and LNG connections have also been approved.
He stated that a special monitoring unit has been set up at the head office of SNGPL, in addition to which monitoring units have been set up at the regional level so that immediate action can be taken on the requests of consumers.
He added that demand notices of 245,000 consumers had already been submitted, and letters have been issued to them so that they can complete the installation of their connections.
He further said that the priority will be given to those consumers who have already deposited money.
He also stated that those who wish to get a connection can get it quickly by paying an urgent fee. A target has been set to provide 300,000 new connections this year, and 600,000 new gas connections will be provided every year from next year.
MD SNGPL said that LPG cylinders are about 30 percent more expensive than our LNG. He said that now consumers will not need to buy expensive cylinders. Explaining the reason for this, he said that now gas will reach homes directly.
