PTI finalizes Shibli Faraz, Faisal Vawda, Sania Nishtar among others as candidates for Senate polls
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry has announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has finalized some of the candidates to contest the upcoming Senate elections.

Taking to twitter, the federal minister wrote The PTI has finalized the names of most of its candidates.
“From Islamabad, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Fauzia Arshad have been selected as final candidates. From Sindh, Faisal Vawda’s name has been finalized alongside Saifullah Abro who will contest the election for the technocrats seat as the PTI's candidate,” he wrote.
Fawad Chaudhry further wrote that Saifullah Niaz, Dr Zarqa and Barrister Ali Zafar will contest the election as PTI candidates from Punjab.
"Names of Shibli Faraz, Mohsin Aziz, Dost Mohammad, Sania Nishtar and Farzana have also been included in the finalized list for senate polls,” he wrote adding,
“Announcements regarding the other seats will be made later."

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the schedule of Senate elections according to which the polling would be held on March 03, 2021.
The election will be contested on 48 seats with two from Islamabad, 11 from Punjab, 11 from Sindh, 12 from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and 12 from Balochistan.
As per election commission, all four Provincial Assemblies and the Parliament House will have the status of polling stations, while returning officers have also been appointed by the Election Commission.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced to hold the Senate elections ahead of schedule which was unanimously rejected by the opposition parties.
