Islamabad: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Monday announced special flights for Iraq on the eve of Ashura, Moharramul Haram.

The special flights will operate from Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad to facilitate the pilgrims who want to go to Iraq on Ashura, a senior PIA official said.
According to the PIA's CEO, the national carrier will arrange 11 flights for pilgrims and this special operation would start on 11th August.
He said "its our national responsibility to accommodate the passengers", adding these special flights are being operated on the instructions of the federal government and the Aviation Ministry.
